Where History Comes Alive!

Volunteering at Heritage Square Museum

Heritage Square Museum relies heavily on our volunteer staff.  The Museum's principal need is volunteers to help run the museum's weekend operations.  Our greatest need right now are individuals who will be historical interpreters and tour guides for the museum's buildings.  However we have many other opportunities for you to volunteer your services to our non-profit organization.  Volunteers also assist at special events and programs, with gardening, research, administrative services, and assisting in the Museum Store.

There are two volunteer training sessions during the year, with lectures regarding Los Angeles history, the history of Heritage Square, plus architecture, costuming, guiding and interior design.  However, you may join the volunteer staff any time of the year.  Our next volunteer training begins Saturday, February 2, 2008 at 9 a.m.  Volunteers are required to join Heritage Square for one year of service and become a museum member.  For membership information and benefits, visit our membership information page.  For information about volunteer opportunities, call our Education Office at (323) 225-2700, extension 222.
